Meeting Santa….

Sam got to meet Santa…. and lets just say she was not a fan of the Big Man! LOL!  She liked to say “HO HO HO” in line and “hi” but once we were going to put her on his lap…. she freaked out! But, being the mean mom that I am, we had her picture taken with him anyways! This picture is actually from her second trip to see him. The first time she was really screaming and the people wouldn’t take her picture. So she went back for round 2 and we told the people she was going to cry but to take the picture anyways! LOL! But, I am proud to say my daughter has great manners and told Santa “Thank you” after she was picked up off his lap!  She is so sweet!

Anything can be a toy….

Sometimes I wonder why I spend so much money on toys for Sam…. she seems to have more fun playing with ‘toys’ that aren’t really meant for her!  Recently she has discovered ziplock bags…. and let me tell you- I am constantly having to pull her out of the drawer where they are kept! But she always looks at me with her big ol eyes and points her finger at me and tells me “one more”… how can I say no? LOL!  She loves to walk around the house and fill them up with all her toys!

She is also content playing with the cat toys. This is a little tunnel that the cats have never once used…. Sam found it laying in a corner and thought it was a fun new toy!

Teacher gifts- DONE!

I finally got all the teacher gifts done for Sam’s teachers! They each got a pair of wine glasses that I painted with red and white flowers- I figured they were festive colors, but not so in-your-face Christmas that they couldn’t be used year round! I realized after I only took one picture of them though... so this is all I got for ya! I promise- they looked really cute and all her teachers loved them!

And since we are on the topic of crafts… here is a sneak peak at a new craft I came across! I only made a few so far… I need to get on making some more! They are little marble magnets! They are super cute and easy to make and are perfect for hanging up all Sam’s artwork!

Homemade crayons

Since Sam is going to school now 2 days a week, I decided I needed to get the kids in her class a gift for the holidays (Hey, its what all the cool moms do, right?) I found this great idea to make crayons in cool shapes! I really wanted to make them in the shape of snow flakes, but I couldn’t find the right pan, so I settled for stars!   They are super easy to make, and I think they turned out pretty cool!  I cant wait to hand them out to all her friends at school!

And now… time to get started on the teacher gifts! I am thinking wine glasses! Every teacher could use a nice glass of wine to unwind after a day of kids, right??  And why not have a gorgeous hand painted glass to enjoy that wine out of? I think it is perfect!

Let there be LIGHTS!

The Christmas lights are up and the house looks great! Tai worked long and hard getting all the lights up and working, and when it was all said and done we realized we need MORE lights for the huge front yard we have now! (And hey- it IS huge compared to what we had! LOL!)

What do you think?

Tis the Season!

Let the decorating begin! Our house is really starting to look like Christmas now! The day after Thanksgiving I was dragging out the boxes of our inside decorations and Tai was out in the yard working on the lights!

Some of our inside decorations:

(notice the "Let it Snow" sign and the furry tree? Yeah- I made those!)

Our stockings- and YEP! The Cats have stockings too!

The shelves all decked out!

A wreath I made super quick to add a little something to the front door... its not the best wreath, but it works for now!

Want to see what Sam did while we worked? (oh and thats Zoey taking a snooze with her!)

I must say, it was easier to get things put away with out her there "helping" me! LOL!

Silly Sam

I thought it was a good time to share some recent pictures of Sam.

She has decided lately that our books are just so much more fun to 'read' than hers, and has started to carry them around with her at all times. The other day her choice was "The Devil Wears Prada"... Tai thought I was trying to brainwash her into liking expensive things! LOL! (Like I need to do that- hello, she is my child! She has good taste!) Anyhoo, the other night she wanted up on my lap with her "boook" (kinda sounds like Boo with a k at the end) and the next thing I knew she was out cold! I guess James Patterson books dont hold her interest! :)

We bought the cats a new cat bed for the new house, and Sam has decided it is the perfect size for her little tushy and took it over! Here she is trying it out

Cheese!

Anyone want an adorable toddler named Sam? She is all ready to go!
