I opened up shop! A shop on Etsy that is! If you have never been to etsy, I suggest you check it out!
www.etsy.com
It is a site for all things hand made. You can create your own store on their site... and so thats what I did! I will be adding more items daily. I have to squeeze in making things and adding them to the site in between working full time and taking care of Sam... and being that I am 6 months pregnant now (Holy crap- 6 months already! Can you believe that??) I am pretty exhausted by the end of most work days. I can't complain though. I am having so much fun coming up with different ideas for items to sell.
So please- go check it out and help spread the word! And don't forget to check back often- there will be new items added all the time!!
Go. Now! Shop!! I know you have at least one friend/family member who is pregnant or has kids... there is something for everyone!

Gifts part 2....
I had a busy weekend full of parties! Friday night was a friends college graduation party, Saturday night was another friends birthday party and Sunday was a baby shower! Here are some of the gifts I made...
For the birthday girl I made her some coasters, magnets and a little tin to hold the magnets. I was trying to give something practical that she would use. I was going to paint her some wine glasses... but she is pregnant too so I didn't want to tease her with those! :)
The flower on the case is a magnet too!

I also found a new craft! Crochet flowers... and let me tell you- I am obsessed!!! I ws trying to add them onto everything I could this weekend! LOL!

And for the baby shower... I just made a quick little "goody basket" to go along with the gift my mom and I gave her.

It had the keychain I made (shared the picture of that last week!)

A padded fabric covered wipe case (I LOVE this. I bought some fabric to make myself a super cute pink one!)

A washcloth lollipop- which is just that- A washcloth rolled to look like a lollipop! The stick is a baby spoon!

A onsie cupcake- this is a onsie and a washcloth rolled to look like a cupcake

The theme of the nursery is planes... so I took some wood planes, glued them onto safety plug covers.. and wa-la! Super cute plug covers!

I finished up the weekend of gifts with a couple newborn headbands. I have a friend who is a photographer and she wanted some headbands for a newborn she is going to be taking pictures of this weekend... so this is what I came up with. I am very excited to see how they look in pictures... especially because this same friend has already said she will come take pictures of Sadie when she gets here!! YAY for having awesome photographer friends!

And this is a little bonus I threw into the package Im sending her... I told you I was obsessed with these flowers! :)

All in all it was a busy weekend of making gifts for me. We had a good time though... too bad our TV broke last night! I guess without a TV I should have a lot more time to make things! :) (I'm trying to see the positive in the situation... because I am NOT happy our 3 year old flat screen took a dump!!!)

Gifts....
Just wanted to share a few recent gifts I have made for some friends. I am constantly trying out new ideas and love that I have friends who want me to make stuff for them!
First up- a couple bow holders (this isn't another one for my Sam... I have a friend with a daughter named Sam too!)

And this one I made for my friend Lindsey's daughter Kennedy. I took the picture before I added the ribbon to hang it with... but that has since been added! I will try to get an updated picture!

And I also made some ribbon covered snap clips for my friend Kristi and her daughter Sam. Kristi is a little challenged in the doing-the-hair department and said she usually just sticks with snap clips because they are nice and easy- so I decided to jazz some up for her!

And finally- my newest hobby. I made this for a friends baby shower that I will be going to this weekend. The pearl is the birthstone of her soon-to-be born son Bryce.

Trip to the zoo
So Saturday morning we woke up and decided to take Sam up to the Santa Barbara Zoo. She was very excited to go see the animals. She talked about the elephants for about 5 minutes before I realized she was saying 'elephant'. Oops- it was my bad mom moment! :) She was so excited, this was her on the drive up!

Once we got there she was a little cautious, not too sure what to make of everything. She did LOVE the flamingos though. They were her favorite animal there I think. The flamingos and the wild ducks that were waddling around...so we could have saved the trip and went to the pond! LOL!

HEHE- this picture makes me laugh because she was so annoyed I was calling her name.. and she looks a little tipsy in the picture!

Next was the elephants she wouldn't stop talking about on the way up... and wanted nothing to do with once we got there. Isn't that how it always goes?

We saw the penguins... they weren't very active when we were there, so she didn't care too much about them.

Next we took the train ride around the zoo. We thought Sam would love this since she loves trains and she loves to go on the little one at the mall... but as soon as the train started- she said "all done". She warmed up a little a few minutes into it.

She had a lot of fun playing on the big fake grass hill... walking up and sliding down. This was the biggest hit of the day

Next stop- the giraffes. Usually it is open so you can pay (an obscene amount of money) to feed them. It wasn't open when we were there though. Bummer... that would have made for some good crying/freaking out pictures!!

If you have never been to this zoo... the giraffes have an amazing view of the ocean- it was a cloudy day though...

And then some more random zoo pictures..

She did not like this guy. At. All.

And that about sums up our trip to the zoo! We did see the otters getting down and dirty on the way out... it was funny listening to the parents trying to explain what they were doing to all the little kids! Good thing Sam had no idea and just thought they were cute! :)

One last picture. When we got home Sam wanted to go outside and play. I told her she needed to put shoes on. Here are the shoes she decided to put on. Gotta love how a 2 year old picks clothes!
